Today. Was. An. Amazing. Day.
I decided that it was time to put procrastination on hold, and to work on my bucket list. And one of the things that I really want to do, is to see the sunrise. So I told C and L about this, and they were keen to come along. So at 0530, I picked up C and we headed out to New Brighton. Slightly unsure of where we were going, we eventually got there just in time. There is no words to describe the amazing feeling of watching the colours of the sky change, as the world around you slowly wakes. You see the sun float from the surface of the water. It was just amazing. And knowing you get to watch the world around you waken, is just wow.
L joined us just before the sun began to rise. Being the snap happy people that we are, we took advantage of the view and opportunity. It was so much fun. Being kids again. Climbing on everything we could possibly climb on. Taking pictures that were both silly, yet amazing. Being able to do this with my friends, made me happy.
During our time at the beach, C spotted a stranded fish from the pier. Being the good hearted person that she is, she urged me to go save the fish. So I ran down to the beach to check out the fish. It was a massive fish. I'm not usually a big fan of fishes, but C's 'aww' and 'save it' made me try. I found myself a 'Rafiki stick' and attempted to move the fish back into the ocean. After about five minutes, we finally got the fish back into the ocean and said goodbye to it as the wave came in. Being able to save a helpless being made me happy. Succeeding in doing so, made me happy.
After we've had our session at the beach, we headed over to breakfast, where we caught up with people whom we haven't seen in a while. It was good to just catch up and laugh. This made me happy.
On walking back to the car, while cutting through the garden, a little girl about 4 years of age, rides along in her bike with her father behind her. Cheerfully she said to me 'Hello!' even though I blatantly had headphones on. Her cheerfulness and amazing smile made me happy. Her smile and happiness was just contagious.
With every sunrise, it is a brand new day. Let us face this brand new day, with a brand new attitude.
